The Upper Douro landscape is peppered with elegant stone dovecotes known locally as 'Pombais'. Quinta do Vesuvio's own 'Pombal' has lent its name to one of the great vineyards of the estate that surrounds it, planted with the Touriga Nacional, Touriga Fra nca and Tinta Amarela varieties that have become synonymous with the great new reds of the Douro. Full-bodied and concentrated as one would expect from a such a low-yielding vineyard. 'Pombal do Vesúvio' possesses an earthy minerality hiding beneath layer s of delicious ripe fruit.
